I started with WVO Designs in December 2010 and am excited to have the opportunity to work in the alternative fuel industry.   During the previous 7 years, I’ve been building and designing landscapes near San Francsico, CA.   Hammering out extensive irrigation and lighting systems, precise pruning and designing planting layouts were some of the highlights.  As soon as I found out you could run biofuel in a truck, I quickly purchased a 97 Powerstroke for my landscaping business.  I transferred my landscape plumbing and electrical knowledge to WVO and have converted my truck along with a few other vehicles.  It always made sense to me to focus efforts and resources on pre-cleaning my oil before it went into my vehicle.  Thus, I developed some very efficient and extraordinarily effective WVO cleaning systems.  No one in the area had cleaner oil than I!  After landscaping wore off and wore me out, I decided to turn to a field that I was passionate about and had expertise in and could use that expertise to help others. Frustrated with the lack of cohesive and comprehensive information about WVO, I put together an interactive guide.  

This lead me to WVO Designs as Leon also had a goal of creating a user friendly informational resource. Thus the leap was made, and now Leon and I working together to help with the sourcing, cleaning and burning of WVO.   Prior to running a landscaping company I worked in a variety of business related positions for startups doing accounting, customer service, sales, etc.  I earned  a BS degree in Business from SUNY Geneseo promptly moved out west and have been living in California for 10 years now.  I’m originally from Buffalo, NY.  Go Bills!   In my free time I’m likely to be wrenching on my Mercedes, studying engineering in graduate school or raising a couple of amazing boys.

Sometime in 2007, I woke up with the desire to be more energy independent;  I wanted to fuel my vehicle on Waste Vegetable Oil collected from local restaurants.   At the time I was commuting 45minutes and as many miles each way to and from work.  Fuel prices were shooting up and oil companies were reporting record profits.  Every trip to "fill up" added to my discontent.  Finally I had enough and chose to do something about it.

- There was an extensive community of enthusiasts happily running their vehicles on vegetable oil.

- There was a lack of good technical information on how to go about safely modifying your vehicle to be suitable for vegetable oil.

After successfully collecting the information and installing the Veggie fuel system to my 7.3L PSD F350, I created WVOdesigns.com and posted the information for free.   It quickly became apparent that not only was technical information needed but also physical product designed specificly for vegetable oil. 

In 2008 I left my day job to pursue WVO Designs as a full time business.  Using engineering and manufacturing expertise we have been able to provide assistance to thousands of people with high quality products and information at extremely competitive prices.  We have also enjoyed meeting and speaking directly to so many awesome people in this industry.
