TOPIC: RAW POWER Oil Centrifuge Installation

Re:RAW POWER Oil Centrifuge Installation 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 1
So I thought I would post again in the hopes of hearing from some of the members.
I have a few questions.

1) Does anyone know where to get an adapter from S60 (course thread) to either pipe slip fitting or NPT for our IBC totes? We have looked high and low, and have only found adapters in the $20+ range each!

2) What are people with the motor controller setting it to? What is the relation between the frequency on the display to the RPMs?

Any help would be appreciated.

Vern

Hi Vern,

I have been neglecting the site but I can help.

1) isn't the fitting on the bottom of the IBC tote 2" Cam-Loc? I use a 2"Cam-Loc to NPT Female adaptor and then a 2"x 3/4"NPT Bushing and finally a 3/4" NPT to Cam-Loc. All my hoses are 3/4" with male and female cam-loc ends.

2)
A) You need to increase the max frequency to 87hz to get 5000rpm. Do this by setting option 24 to 87.0 (105 for 6000)

B)Set the speed scaling (option 39) to 34.5 so that the controller will display ideal speed rather than frequency. This is a multiplier meaning at 60hz read 34.5 meaning 3450rpm

C) Increase the speed using the arrows to 50.0 meaning 5000rpm or 60.0 meaning 6000rpm.

I run at 6000rpm.

Thanks for the help!

When I start up the controller I manually raise the Hz to 50 right now.
That means i am spinning at 5000RPM?
At 60 on the display, the unit wants clearance to take off.....
I will change the settings.

About 40 of the 60 totes that we own are with a European thread.
I am told it is a buttress fitting that I need. Very pricey.
Some of our other totes (in the old processing facility are all either 2" Camlok
or NPT. We bought these totes at a great price, and now I see why nobody else wanted them. Maybe we will just use a compression fitting but I am worried as there are 4 totes in a row constantly filling with feedstock, and I wouldnt want one of those to break.

Tonight, I am finishing the plumbing on the new centrifuge, and hope to be spinning by midnight. Due to our move and not being able to find a suitable fitting, we have been idle for more than 60 days. Stockpiling oil is about all we have be doing (as well as collecting)

I appreciate the input.

Hey after oil!

Thanks for the pics...
Right under the Emoticons you will see an option to 'select image file to attach'

I have the same thread.
Did you cut out the center of the cap and then glue in a pc of 2" PVC?

Looks interesting....

We also purchased a Sandy Brae water test kit, and am very happy with the results so far. The centrifuge(s) are pulling out enough water to show on average 0.01% H2O with our post product tests. I will send some pics when everything is online and the shop is cleaned up.

I have had my CF for a week now (the base model 3600 rpm version) and am pretty happy with the crap that is flung out of the oil.

Are these water numbers coming from the base model you have or the 6000 rpm version?
