I have been getting involved with Pureflow Technologies as they offer competitive products at much better prices. So far, only the Airdog2 (pump with integrated filters) will provide the 70psi required for the PSD. They all have an integrated pressure regulator that is either fixed or adjustable. My future designs most likely use the Airdog units..

My fuge was at my office like ya said. Wife neglected to tell me. In regards to this pump discussion here I note that in your original fuel system design you used the FASS pump with 80psi rating, and a price of 375 at dfa however I searched and havnt found that criter at that price lol. What did i miss? I also did some reading and found a confliciting psi requirment for 7.3PS. I found a minimum requirment of 50psi Can you confirm this.

The fuge looks good. Im gonna try to hook it up to a swimming pool pump motor that runs continuously at 3650rpm. I can get these free as have a friend who has a pool maintenance company. The pumps usualy go out while the motors are still solid. Only thing is the shaft diameter is a bit off so im gonna have to try to get a different translock.

Ok well now I have more contradicting info. While visiting with Santa Clause this morning about the kids toys santa gave me a 7.3 DIT POWER STROKE TECHNICIAN AND SERVICE PERSONEL TECHNICAL ADVANCMENT SERVICE PUBLICATION( basically a book given by ford to its mechanics that the average joe never gets). On page 28 in the fuel charging system section it discusses checking fuel pressure in right and left head in the plugged passages and goes on to say " Fuel pressure should not drop below 30PSI. It is not uncommon to see fuel pressures as high as 80psi."

Thoughts or experience on pumps and pressures?

Depends on who you talk to. I know a guy (skiskyjason) who says the same, 30 psi min. He has been around the PSD for a long time and has clocked 110k+ vo miles and built his own system too. he often says that 70 psi is more then needed. Many injector builders and even DFA says anything less then 100 psi is fine.

For me, I run 50 or so PSI under load on the diesel side and 75 or so on the VO side (fass) I feel NO difference grossing 22k at 50 psi vs 75 psi.

DFA says 50 - 100

Swamps says 35+

ha i had a reply typed but it dumped it for some reason. anyway i was saying it seems strange that the pumps seem to be the most expensive part of a wvo setup. Wrkd with hydraulics a bunch and there are many more options out there it seems.

I have been blending my wvo to run over the years but im now switching over to run straight. These pumps or the two that are the only options have me trying to find other options.

It looks to me the FAAS is the way to go if 50 to 80psi is mandatory which is why i bring the issue up because it seems unclear that 50-80psi is mandatory.

Had read the DFA link but not the swamps, it was a good read. I will most likely buy the FAAS where the best price to get one?

This has probably been covered somewhere, but what type of fittings are used on the fuel line going to the head? What is the size and thread pitch of these fittings and of the plug at the other end of the head on a 7.3 powerstroke?

Thanks,

Ryan
