I assume the temperature switch is located in the coolant system and not the fuel system? I couldn't find that anywhere here.

Yup. Some install it in the waterpump plug but I have a bypass filter there. I installed a Tee in one of the coolant lines heading back to the tank and take the temp there.

how are you addressing air in the VO or do you just not worry about it?

also I can't find the download section anywhere. It's probably right in front of my nose but I could use a little bit of help.
thanks, Andrew

I don't do anything about air. On this design, you can use the purge valve to prime the system and flush any air issues out.

Sorry, I hide the download section, I need to do yet another re-design:

Thanks. That was way easier to find.

But what happens when you're low on VO and you hit a big bump and the pump sucks up some air. Wouldn't this air go through your system and go right to the heads. I think this would be quite noticeable. Or do you just purge it back through whenever you notice the engine running rough? Or is a little bit of air no big deal. I envision the time I ran out of fuel and it ran absolutely terrible for two to three miles till I got all the air finally out of it.

The air bubble doesn't make it through the pump; it looses its ability to maintain pressure pumping air and the system switches pack to diesel.

Holding the purge valve open for a few moments allows the pump to clear the air back to the veggie tank. At the same time diesel is being pushed through the heads and down towards the veggie tank, clearing any air that may be in that line too.

When you release the purge valve, you should be in normal veggie operation/pressure and the diesel pump will go back off....

Any idea on how much more difficult it would be to convert an OBS (94-97) powerstroke? Sounds like the stock mechanical fuel pump needs to be replaced with a FASS or other and the fuel system redesigned so it is similar to the 99+ powerstrokes.

Reason I ask is I am thinking about purchasing an OBS powerstroke but looking at the cost of a Dinofuelalt. kit with the extra lift pump I am looking at around 3,500. I have converted and ran over 50 K so far in my all mechanical Ford IDI but I am looking at getting a powerstroke. The kit is appealing because they claim average install time is around two 8 hour days. I would love to do the same like you did Leon and DIY it, but I am worried my trick will be down for a month while try and figure out how to wire and install a valveless DIY SVO system for the powerstroke. I have the cash to purchase all the parts needed. I know this is an almost impossible question to answer but any idea what the install time could be for someone with some mechanical skills and experience with all the parts sitting there?
