a great thanks to both of you and rotozuk probably recognizes me from his thread on dieselstop.

but alas I'm color blind, and the text files and schematics for some reason come up rather small (can't expand image like the pictures).
would there be a way to get the files emailed to me?

thanks,
Micah

EDIT: found the download section

Well.... I made it. I am officially greasing! I ran for the first time total veg for the first time today. I am a little surprised at how long it takes the engine to get up to 160* to flip the switch. I thought it would be a lot faster.

I have to say that i am SO SO SO Thankful for the diagrams and dialogue on this forum. I still have some polishing to do to get ready for snow and road salt, but i have made it into the inner sanctum!

Once i save some clams from the miles on grease i plan to ad some gauges, but that is later. I have some small LED's that indicate power to the pump and electric heater and i have one that indicated the engine is up to temp. So for now i am set.

Sorry I have been gone for so long..

I've had my system done and running for a while now. First trip was 2000 miles. I have a temporary tank in the bed that has no heat, and the only issue I have had is with the pump not wanting to suck cold oil out of the tank.

I'm am in the middle of phase 2 of the install, a new under bed heated 40 gallon tank, and some gauges for the veggie and engine. Oh yeah, and some HIDs so I can see where I'm going at night.

I used the Raptor pump, and am VERY happy with it. It is a bit cheaper then the Faas, draws less amps, and is basically silent when pumping warm oil. With cold oil it might make a little noise. Great warranty too. I suggest you check them out.

Also, since I was not sure I had a clean tank I have been running a cheap prefilter before my pump. Same one that faas recommends, it is something like a 45 micron, and costs about $5.00. I also picked up a cheap puraltor G3 (G4?) filter for the same purpose. It is basically the same filter, but a little finer filtering, and a clear body. Easy to see if it is catching junk. Looks like the tank was clean as it has never shown signs of dirt.

Anyhow, I probably have about 3,000 miles on it now, and time to change the filters soon. No issues at all other then the cold oil in the pump, and that will be solved soon.

I'll have to tackle the electrical soon as I'm currently just using a pair of switches to control the system. I forgot to switch off the veggie last night for the first time, but remembered before the motor had a chance to cool down.

Where did you get your Raptor Pump? The last time I checked, they didn't regulate to enough pressure.

Love to see some pictures.

Bought it from them directly: http://www.pureflowtechnologies.com/Raptor.htm

Very nice pump, actually comes with some stuff you will not need. Includes fittings for the stock fuel tank (don't need) a bunch of nice 1/2" pushlock hose, pump mount, and a couple of fittings, wire harness, etc.

All you need is a couple of PSI over stock, and that is what I dialed the regulator up to. I checked with them before I bought it, and let them know my plan. They confirmed the pump would not have any issues and was good for at least 80 PSI. (Make sure you order the low volume, higher pressure version.)

As a side note, my buddy runs a FAAS pump on his, and he also dropped the stock fuel pressure some by trimming the spring in the fuel bowls regulator.

Here is a picture of the main guts of my system...
