I am leaving on a 1k mile trip with my 5th wheel in a week and 3 days…

So I have about 1500 miles on my setup so far and all is good, till my first little trip pulling my 5th wheel. Pulling the 5er makes the truck work and everything is much hotter. I ran fine with no leaks till after pulling the 5th. I have a small piece of rubber hose after my heat exchanger (stupid FPHE said npt threads, but they were not.. so I used the included barbs). The hose is rated for 212 degrees. During my trip I was running pretty hot and all I can think is that I must have exceeded the temp and caused the hose to fail.

The hose before the FPHE is fine and not leaking at all only the piece after the FPHE. That is why I am thinking that too much heat caused it to leak.

And it started to leak the day after I got home from my short 100 mile trip with the 5er.

So I need some 3/8 hose that can handle maybe 250 degrees? And I need it FAST!

I was busy looking at hydro hose and did not think about this... What about transmission hose? that should be able to handle the heat no prob, but what about the pressure and will it handle wvo/diesel/biodiesel?

I was always told that heater hose is not safe with oil/diesel. do you think this hose will be ok being silicone?

What are your thoughts on transmission hose? I really wish my FPHE had NPT ports on it. o well
