Glad to have you here.

This site is focused on sharing high quality WVO designs and open communication. I will do my best to organize the content so that the various designs are available for download as a package in the download section. There has been some very creative and amazing work done out there. Now is the time to show it off and share with the community.

I wanted to thank you for getting this started. I have been studying the kits that are available, and the information seems overwhelming to me (of course, I'm not a mechanic), but I really want to convert my VW Westfalia camper with a 1.6 Jetta TDI in it. I just don't know enough about the mechanics of it to decide which one I should go with, or make one up (I have a friend who is very mechanical with cars, and I'm sure he could do it). Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
Annie

I believe Elsbett makes a one tank kit for that engine. It would involve changing out the glow plugs and changing to their custom injectors. It is the only one tank system I recommend. If you wanted to go two tank, you could make a go of it yourself or with your friend. I would be happy to work with you if you wanted to go that route. You wont save much money over the Elsbett though you can't beat the simplicity of a one tank system.

Yes it is a bit rough out there. I went through it too and found it almost impossible to find the level of information that I am sharing on this site.

This site was put together for you. If you choose to use the kit, it would be great to get some feedback and discussion on improvements. For the most part, I documented the Ford design at the level that I actually built. Most of the improvements would have to do with cleaning up the install of the electrical system.

I would really like to hear from the people who are using a design from this thread so that I know that people are using it and it is worth the effort. I will start a "me too" thread.

Installation procedure
Is there any place that gives the DIY a how to manual for the installation. I have several drawings that give me an idea of where the parts go but no written instructions.
