The responce on the centrifuge has been great; I really feel that we hit the spot with the product and the price poit. Thanks to all that helped out. Obviously, there would not have been as much enthusiasim if the final price was $2000.

So, now that that is out of my hands into the manufacturing world; what else do you want? I have been thinking (my fiance says my head is going to explode) and have come up with the following potentials. However, I need some feedback as to what YOU feel you need: (this is what the internet is supposed to be good at!)

1) In-Line Electric Oil Heater for Raw Power Centrifuge. @ $200

2) Side Mount Adaptors for Raw Power Centrifuge. (So you could bolt it to a wall or fence) @$50

3) Leg Extensions for Raw Power Centrifuge. @ $50

4) More Power belt drive add-on for Raw Power Centrifuge @ $200

5) High Pressure System for Raw Power Centrifuge @ $100

6) Portable Collection/Transfer pump - 10-20gpm @ $200

7) Electronic VO controller to manage switchover and purge. @ $100

I guessed wildly at the prices, please include where you feel the price should be along with your product idea.

Could you give a more detailed description of items #4 & #5?

#4 sounds like some kind of PTO to drive other accessories, and I don't understand the need for a high pressure feed indicated in #5.

However, I'm not sure if I've correctly guessed at the true meaning of either.

Thanks.

Sorry, I was a bit brief in my explanations:

#4 would convert the current design to be belt driven where we could multiply motor (3450rpm) by a gear ratio ie 1.5 making 5175rpm thus bumping up the centripetal force from 1268Gs to 2848Gs. Weeee

#5 is a real purge system that could be set up with a timer to empty the contents of the bowl at set intervals. See video for my design inspiration. I did the drain holes for now but they are kind of weak.

Ultimately I am kind of partial to sourcing a solid 20 gpm gear pump at the $250 mark. Currently Red Line (see-> redlinepumps.com) has the only thing that comes close but $750? Come on, we can do better than that. I think $250 is a more reasonable price. What do you think? Would you buy one?

Leon,

I was wondering about the inline heater. Have you investigated any alternatives? $200.00 seems like alot for an inline heater. I was wondering if some sort of surge chamber, maybe 2 inch pipe with an electric water heater element and a thermostat would be more cost effective. Let me know what your thoughts are.

Thanks for all your doing.

Jeff

Jeff, I have a design posted for an inline heater in the download section as well as the "simple centrifuge bom" thread. The immersion heater with adjustable thermostat was $200. But I do agree, $200 doesn't sound aggressive enough. I should be able to get a sale price in the 100s.

I like the vertical pipe design that I used with a drain valve on the bottom. You get another water and sediment trap while the fluid is heating. I suppose I just need to find a suitable source for the heating element with thermostat. There are reasons that you don't use a water specific element, too much watts/sq-inch will burn the oil and could cause a fire.

Anyway, download the designs I have at this point for a place to start.

I did some research on finding a good gear pump. Would you look at what I found! 20GPM-1hp with 1" ports! I want one but I am going to buy a dozen and share.
