What kind of inverter does this pump need? Anyone know?

The motor is rated at 750W, to be safe you would want a 1500W inverter.

What application does the 20GPM afford you?

So in 5 minutes I could have 100 gallons pumped out of 1 tank into another?
If you were pulling oil from an outside oil trap would you have to use a filter to prevent the pump from gumming up?

I'm just getting started with WVO.
I've downloaded your designs and look forward to purchasing a centrifuge unit come October.

Are there pictures of any filtered oil from your unit?

Why 20gpm? Its the biggest pump I could find that I could still lift (under 50lbs). Bigger better faster, you know. I have one of the early Redline pumps, it has 5/8" ports and is specked at 10gpm but pulls around 7 depending on hose length. It also had a design flaw in the pully where it would sease up if you ran if for a couple hours. The most that I have ever needed to transfer was 1000gallons and it took a really long time.

Do you need to pre-filter? Depends what kind of garbage you have in your oil. My feeling is if you need to filter so the pump doesn't bind; you should probably find another source. A pump of this size and power would push through way more than you would want to collect. I have never had that problem with my much smaller 1/3hp redline

Pictures, I am on it. I put two samples in two coke bottles last week: One is somewhat settled but not through the centrifuge, the other is after the centrifuge run at about 15gph@150F. You can clearly see small particles in suspension in one and none in the other. This is exactly the type of contaminants that are difficult to remove conventionally. You decide what you would like to see poured into your vehicle...

Only problem is living in upstate NY -- cold winters. I only assume the best way to process oil is in a 60+ degree room.

Its got to be liquid to start with, thats for sure. Someone needs to kick my ass to develop the "bolt on" inline oil heater for the centrifuge. In the mean time the pipe heater works really well; the whole assembly gets almost too hot to touch ~ 150F and the oil rolls out looking almost good enough to eat...almost.
